Summary
Finally, we have a new, worthy old-school slasher TV series that truly captures the essence of how these shows should be made. It follows a great classic formula, delivering plenty of gore, strong characters, and genuinely scary moments that will leave you craving for more. Personally, I've already watched the first two seasons, and I must say they outshined AHS in this genre. Thankfully, this series didn't fall into the trap of becoming another failed black parody of 80s slashers like AHS did. When it comes to "slasher horror," it's crucial to get it right. There's no need to mix foolish black comedy with supernatural elements like AHS did in its season 9, which was centered around "camp horror." The "Slasher" series takes itself seriously, and both of its initial seasons were simply awesome. Season 2, in particular, gave us a nostalgic and gratifying experience, reminiscent of watching the Friday the 13th series, especially with its tribute to young Jason and his mother. It's safe to assume that season 3 will be just as fantastic, and I'm eagerly looking forward to purchasing the DVDs and Blu-rays so I can relish the series again and again, along with the bonus extras.
