Summary
Requiem is a supernatural mystery thriller hailing from the UK. While it may follow some familiar tropes, it manages to deliver a compelling series that, despite being somewhat predictable, teeters on the edge of becoming clichu00e9d. One of Requiem's strengths lies in its offbeat nature. The main character, Matilda, with her grown-up "Children of the Corn" appearance, possesses a depth and quirkiness that extends to the entire cast. This helps to divert attention from the more obvious plot twists, instead drawing the viewer in emotionally and personally. As a "slow burn" thriller, Requiem may not appeal to those seeking instant gratification. However, it makes up for it with its human interest elements, strong characterizations, and well-structured storytelling. Overall, Requiem qualifies as a decent, if not outstanding, short series. I'd give it an eight out of ten.
