Summary
Their intention is not to replicate Stranger Things, and I don't want to delve into the topic of 'copying' either. Stranger Things itself draws inspiration from several popular games, movies, and books that existed before its creation. 'Dark,' on the other hand, exhibits a slow-paced start but manages to captivate the audience, keeping them on the edge of their seats. The tension, coupled with excellent cinematography and acting, adds depth to the show beyond what is found in Stranger Things. Unlike the latter, 'Dark' doesn't rely heavily on special effects or boast a Hollywood-scale budget. It represents the kind of television that truly stands out. Watching it invokes a sense of nostalgia akin to the feeling experienced when watching Donnie Darko. It seems that those who complain about the pace of 'Dark' might also raise similar objections to movies like Blade Runner 2049 or Interstellar. In that case, perhaps they would find more satisfaction in sticking to Marvel movies.
