Summary
This reboot marks the seventh installment in the series and follows a familiar premise. A group of friends embarks on a hiking trip along the Appalachian Trail, despite warnings not to stray from the path. To their dismay, they become captives of a violent and hostile community that has inhabited the mountains for centuries. I stumbled upon this movie without watching the trailer or reading any information about it. Initially, I expected the typical storyline of inbred cannibals feasting on human flesh and attacking hikers and city-dwellers. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The film delivers intense and brutal kill scenes, along with moments filled with suspense. It is worth noting that there is no nudity in the movie. I was particularly impressed by Daisy Head's performance, although I felt that she deserved more screen time. Her pouty lips and resemblance to Angelina Jolie made her stand out to me.
