Summary

The Eye falls somewhere in the middle, neither great nor horrible. It presents itself as an average movie. My expectations were not high before watching it. If you go in with high hopes, you might be disappointed, but if you approach it as a casual movie-watching experience, you could end up enjoying it. The beginning and much of the middle were rather dull, with sudden scenes meant to startle the audience. However, as the story progressed, things picked up, and Jessica Alba's character began to uncover the truth about herself and those around her. This is when the action kicked in and kept you on the edge of your seat. Although the movie had its slow and tedious moments, the final part redeemed itself and turned out to be quite captivating. If only the entire film had maintained the same level of excitement as its conclusion, it would have been excellent. Overall, The Eye offers some good scares with well-executed visual effects. The plot, which keeps you in suspense about why the protagonist became blind, was handled skillfully. Jessica Alba's performance was commendable as well. If you're in the mood for a fairly scary movie with plenty of jump-scares, give it a try.
