    Summary

The Deep House takes its audience on a slow and dark descent, gradually building up to a satisfying conclusion. Set underwater, the movie creates an otherworldly and eerie atmosphere that sets it apart from anything else in the genre. The presence of ghosts within the house becomes all the more startling in this unique setting. Rather than bombarding the viewers with sensory overload, the film opts to let the current of the story gently flow over them. As a result, your enjoyment of the movie may depend on how willing you are to immerse yourself in its intricate details over its simplified plot. Despite this, Bustillo and Maury manage to skillfully blend two seemingly distant subgenres, displaying impressive ambition in their execution. Their daring approach to push the boundaries of horror, particularly from a technical standpoint, is always appreciated in the genre, even if it doesn't achieve absolute perfection.
